From kitchen to classroom, from farmers markets to potluck suppers, from the first state to the 50th, Dorothy Greet shares her story of becoming aware of the powerful health and
environmental benefits of going veg.
Go Veg With Class is a collection of select, edited posts with photos by the author from nearly a decade of blogging at GO VEG in The Cape Gazette, Delaware’s Cape region community newspaper published in Lewes, Delaware. She invites readers and eaters to join her in making a world of difference for personal, animal and environmental health.
"This book demonstrates beautifully how eating nutritious minimally processed plant foods is a pleasure not a burden,
the solution not the problem."
~ Jeff Novick, MS, RDN
What a joy to read! I love the personal accounts and photos of the author and family. The colorful illustrations and easy-to-follow recipes make this a must-have for anyone needed to update not only their cookbook collection, but their epicurious lifestyle.
Thank you, Dorothy Greet for this amazing book!
Following a diet needn't be stressful. Dorothy presents an upbeat encouragement with a trove of culinary delights for the whole food plant-based life style. It's not really a diet. Highly recommend this book.
As a life-long on again, off again vegetarian I so wish this book existed 40 years ago! Dorothy Greet proves it’s never too late to adopt plant-based eating. Her book is a gem for those who want to improve their health and our planet. A must read
This book opened my eyes and touched my heart! I have always loved animals, but ate them for their “necessary” protein. After journeying with the author, I learned WHY and HOW to thrive on plant-based foods while avoiding all animal-based foods. Life is GOOD! Thank you Go Veg With Class!
Years of personal research, exploration and culinary experimentation has given Dorothy a thorough and widely tested background in what it takes to maximize healthy living through eating. The proof is in the positive changes, not only in her health, but in the health of her extended family as well, many of whom are pictured in this entertaining and informative series of essays and recipes on living better, longer and healthier through food!
This book is wonderful, a primer answering all your questions about going and staying veg. It's backed with many scientific references. It's joyful to read and a work of art. You’ll want to read slowly to savor like all the delicious recipes. The book also gives us immediate steps to fulfill our longing to save the planet by learning why supporting the meat industry is leading us towards a climate disaster. Food for the soul. Highly recommended.
I've had the pleasure of being in Dorothy's classes in Lewes, DE teaching us how to succeed on a plant based diet. She is such an inspiration, has gone plant based due to her own heart problem several years ago, healed herself and so many others. A passionate environmentalist, animal rights activist, and that food is our medicine. She taught me to teach my doctor about plant based nutrition, and I did. I'm 73, take no medications, no health problems, my weight is good and all my medical tests have been perfect. Being vegan is fun and easy, really! Thank you Dorothy for this wonderful book that I know, comes from the love in your heart and desire to help others. If in doubt, look into how our beautiful animals are treated and slaughtered. What is the difference in eating a cow, lamb, chicken and a cat or dog?
Share author Dorothy Greet’s plant-based journey to health and a sustainable environmental ethic. The blog format delivers bite-sized nuggets of information and inspiration in a well-organized and accessible style. She includes sixty plant-based no oil recipes designed to appeal to all ages and diverse tastes. The five minute five ingredient chana masala recipe is pure genius. Her eleven year old grandson’s whole wheat pita recipe is fun and easy to make. This book is a delightful must read on your way to optimal personal and compassionate responsible planetary health.
After sharing a meal with my friend and colleague, Janet, she recommended that I buy Dorothy‘s book because my daughter had become vegetarian, and I was wondering all the sorts of things I could be doing in order to extend her diet and open her to a new set of Meals that we could have together Dorothy’s book was both revealing and informative, and very useful to our family. I am pleased with the outcomes, and I look forward to the next book she writes. This is a perfect gift for the holidays, and a great way of moving forward if you intend to become vegetarian.
